INFANTS

Infants Program (6weeks-16months)

New to the world and taking it in…Precious Time is there as your baby’s world begins! We are privileged to be there while your child develops personal and affectionate relationships.  In addition, your child will form attachments to your child’s teacher and peers in a home-like environment.

At Precious Time

We hold all infants while feeding, even if they hold their own bottle. Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) suggests that holding, cuddling, and being in tune with the infant will assist in providing a sense of trust and assure that his/her needs will be understood and met promptly.

We cultivate infant social skills. We foster age appropriate social skills in your infant through ongoing interactions with teachers during feeding, diapering, activity time and quiet times.

We prepare bottles and food in hot water. As recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) this will help eliminate “hot spots” in your baby’s bottles and food, while maintaining the nutritional value of formula or food.

We accompany children while eating in their high chair, helping to develop your child’s self-help skills and age appropriate eating habits while encouraging and empowering language skills.

We help your baby become more independent from bottle to cup; finger food to utensils.

We provide an engaging learning environment, which is challenging yet not overly stimulating that will positively effect your baby’s development.

We provide developmentally appropriate material, which will help foster growth and development of your baby such as  rattles, busy boxes, nesting blocks and of course, books.

We provide outdoor time exploring nature’s wonders while promoting large muscle skills in a safe, healthy stimulating environment.

We provide activities that encourage language development with a creative approach and style. Examples include playing games such as “peek-a-boo” and “patty cake,” Music and movement activities and board books for literacy.

We provide individualized lesson plans that are created daily by our teachers. Our lesson plans will fulfill your babies unique needs based on a curriculum that is based on sound principles of child growth and development.

We provide an infant daily report. It will keep you apprised of your baby’s day even when you’re at work! Our daily report will list what your baby has eaten, time slept, diapering and an overview of his/her day.

We provide a developmental evaluation every three months including a parent conference if necessary. The parent/ teacher conference will allow us the opportunity to collaborate and form a partnership to assist in your child’s development.

We provide baby sign language. Research shows that children are able to communicate before they are able to speak. Teaching baby sign language will improve children’s communication skills.

We provide an area for mother’s to breast feed. Being able to meet the needs of your child as well as your personal needs is of utmost importance to us; therefore, we provide those accommodations in our environment.

We offer your baby bottles of water during the course of the day. The latest on brain research states the brain needs hydration. The major way to give it hydration is through drinking water on a regular basis.

We believe in the latest brain research. In order to facilitate learning, we play Mozart and other famous composers that studies have shown to increase children’s capacities and intelligence.

We believe children need to form attachments with adults who are significant in their lives. This is why we have instituted a monthly “Bring Someone Special Day”.

We are proud to provide diversity in all our classrooms. Our goal is to help all children learn about different cultures. Our motto is “We’re all alike yet unique.”
