Preschool Program (3-4 years)
Knowledge is increasing along with the ability to turn anything into a game. Precious Time is on hand to help turn play into children’s work through role playing, problem solving, and assisting as your preschooler begins sorting out his/ her world. In addition, this age is the time to show children learning can be fun through a “hands-on approach”.
At Preschool Program
We provide an engaging learning environment that is challenging yet not over stimulating. This assists in positively affecting your child’s behavior, style of learning and builds his/her self esteem.
We provide a variety of “Learning Centers”, which facilitate our curriculum. For example, the writing area is one of the learning centers included for this age group. This learning center will assist in supporting prewriting experiences for your child.
We are proud to offer developmentally appropriate materials such as those that will increase skills in Math, Science, and Literacy etc. These materials will support the ongoing developmental growth of each child at his/her own pace.
We provide an individualized daily lesson plan that is designed to meet the needs of your child. In addition, our lesson plan covers developmental objectives that are based on our educational curriculum.
We provide you a preschool daily report. One of our goals is to keep you apprised of your child’s schedule, which includes what he/she has eaten, time slept, medication administration and overall view of his/her day.
We build upon your child’s language skills by introducing new words, new concepts, numbers, and letters. Did you know that four year olds have a vocabulary of approximately 1500 words? One of their favorite words is “why?” We will assist in their language skills by addressing many of those “why?” questions.
We provide computer lessons to help prepare your child for the information age! We encourage early computer skills while continuing to develop eye-hand coordination.
We offer sign language. Sign language is the third most used language, after English and Spanish. This will assist your child in being prepared for a second language while being able to assist those who are unable to speak.
We offer Spanish lessons, allowing children to foster communication with others in their community now and in the future through knowledge of a second language.
We provide you with a developmental evaluation every six months with the option of parent/teacher conference. A partnership with parents is crucial to assist in the overall development of the child.
We offer smooth transitions within a structured daily schedule. Feelings of safety and security are formed through predictable schedules. Your child will move from one activity to another in a smooth and calm manner, creating an organized and harmonious classroom experience.
We offer an indoor play area that is divided into “Learning Centers”. The use of learning centers encourages and promotes your young preschooler’s physical, intellectual, and emotional development. In our classrooms, you will see a dramatic play/housekeeping center, block building center, art, music, library and much more!
We offer outdoor play areas furthering gross motor skills such as running, jumping, galloping, and skipping as well as social skills with age appropriate equipment. Safety is our first and foremost concern in all of our areas and programs.
We provide individual cots for napping verses sleep mats. Napping is easier and more restful for your child using comfortable cots that are raised off the floor, with clean, soft bedding.
We teach children appropriate hand washing skills as recommended by our State Health Department and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
We sit with our children during meals and snacks, which adds to a pleasant mealtime environment and opportunities for informal modeling of manners. Our teachers encourage social interaction and conversation about concepts such as colors of the food, quantity of food, and number of items on the plate, temperature of food and events of the day.
We serve hot, nutritious foods with the necessary vitamins and nutrients for a growing body and strong mind.
We respect diversity in our classrooms. Our goal is to develop pride through positive racial/cultural identity, inspiring positive attitudes about other cultures while helping the children see skin color variations as a continuum rather than extreme. Children will also learn to develop understanding, acceptance, and an attitude of helpfulness toward those who have special needs. Our motto is, “We are all alike, yet unique.”
We respect those with varying abilities. Our goal is to instill awareness and understanding and accepting spirit towards others.
We believe children need to form attachments with adults whom are significant in their lives. This is why we have instituted a monthly “Bring Someone Special Day”.
We provide a fun and exciting Splash Day, of course, when the weather permits. This helps your child learn water safety.
What People Say About Us
Have a history with precious time. Overall a great safe place for children. I have only had 1 negative experience in which a child didn't make it to bathroom in time due to a staff member telling her to wait. Then when the parent picked the child up the staff didn't even bother cleaning the child off. Other than that they do a lot of cool trips and keep the kids very active.

We have been using Precious Time for over 5 years and have been absolutely thrilled with our children's development during this time. We have had some concerns with the amount of staff turnover recently, but it hasn't seemed to bother our kiddos.
