Young Preschoolers ( 2 - 3 years )

At Precious Time
We provide an engaging learning environment that is challenging yet not over stimulating. This assists in positively affecting your child’s behavior, style of learning and builds his /her self-esteem.
We are proud to provide your child with developmentally appropriate learning materials that will support his/her growth and development at his/her own pace.
We provide a daily lesson plan that is designed to meet the needs of your child. Our lesson plan covers developmental objectives that are based on our educational curriculum.
We build upon your child’s language skills by introducing new words, new concepts, numbers, shapes, and colors.
We provide you a daily report. One of our goals is to keep you apprised of your child’s schedule, which includes what he/she has eaten, time slept, diapering (if applicable), medication administration and overall picture of his/her day.
We provide you with a developmental evaluation every six months with the option of Parent/Teacher Conference. A partnership with parents is crucial to assist in the overall development of the child.
We offer potty training. Within our facility, we are able to separate those being diapered and those working on potty training.

We sit with our children during meals and snacks, which adds to a pleasant mealtime environment and opportunities for informal modeling of manners. Our teachers encourage social interaction and conversation about concepts such as colors of fruits and vegetables, quantity of food, number of items, temperature of food and events of the day.
We serve hot, nutritious foods with the necessary vitamins and nutrients for a growing body and strong mind.
We provide individual cots for napping verses sleep mats. Napping is easier and more restful for your child using comfortable cots that are raised off the floor, with clean, soft bedding.
We offer smooth transitions within a structured daily schedule. Feelings of safety and security are formed through predictable schedules. Your child will move from one activity to another smoothly and calmly, creating an organized and harmonious classroom experience.
We offer an indoor play area that is divided into “learning centers”. The use of learning centers encourages and promotes your young preschooler’s physical, intellectual, and emotional development. In our classrooms, you will see a dramatic play/housekeeping center, block building center, art, music, library and much more!
We offer outdoor play areas furthering gross motor skills, as well as social skills with age appropriate equipment. Safety is our first and foremost concern in all of our areas and programs.
We teach children appropriate hand washing skills as recommended by our State Health Department and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

We respect diversity in our classrooms. Our goal is to develop pride through positive racial/cultural identity, inspiring positive attitudes about other cultures while helping the children see skin color variations as a continuum rather than extreme. Children will also learn to develop understanding, acceptance, and an attitude of helpfulness toward those who have special needs.
We respect those with varying abilities. Our goal is to instill awareness and understanding and encourage an accepting spirit towards others.
We believe children need to form attachments with adults whom are significant in their lives. This is why we have instituted a monthly “Bring Someone Special Day”.
We offer sign language as a way for children to communicate with others while assisting them in learning a second language. Studies show sign language is the third largest language.
We offer splash day, which promotes outdoor play while teaching swimming skills and water safety to your young preschooler.
We offer computer lessons, which support early computer skills and advancing your child’s eye hand coordination.
We offer Spanish lessons. Spanish, the number two language after English will foster communication with other members of their community today and a jump-start on their future with knowledge of a second language.
What People Say About Us

Have a history with precious time. Overall a great safe place for children. I have only had 1 negative experience in which a child didn't make it to bathroom in time due to a staff member telling her to wait. Then when the parent picked the child up the staff didn't even bother cleaning the child off. Other than that they do a lot of cool trips and keep the kids very active.

We have been using Precious Time for over 5 years and have been absolutely thrilled with our children's development during this time. We have had some concerns with the amount of staff turnover recently, but it hasn't seemed to bother our kiddos.
